古典吉他演奏会 / 杨杰、高蕊

作为参加美国国际吉他比赛的热身，杨杰和高蕊将在时差空间奉献一场独家古典音乐演奏会。他们曾和享誉国际的吉他演奏者陈志先生共同学习，之后在中国进修，取得了许多音乐上的成就。现场他们将演奏普劳、朱里亚尼、雷冈蒂、格拉那多斯、迪安斯以及巴赫等世界注明作曲家的作品。

【10月26日至11月2日】儿童工作坊

“我创造，固我乐” 数字音乐合成工作坊

盖亚•玛菲佐理（法国互动乐团）

 

感谢这个高度创新的数字合成工作坊系列，孩子们和成人都将学会用强大的软件，如GarageBand, Idensity, MUSY 或者DM1，并把一个简单的平板电脑变成一个多才多艺的音乐制作机器。

盖亚•马费佐利老师是蒙贝利亚尔音乐学院（法国）的数字创作教授，意大利瑞士卢加诺音乐学院的音乐老师。她还是法国互动乐团的成员，一群音乐家聚集在一起创作实时互动音乐——融合乐器、电子产品以及观众的参与。

 

工作坊将以多语种形式进行：

-10月26日星期天，上午9:30-11:30： 儿童工作坊 #1，法语，英语。

-10月26日星期天，下午14:00-16:00：儿童工作坊 #2，法语，英语。

-11月2日星期天，上午9:30-11:30：儿童工作坊 #3，中文。

“探索音乐会”数字音乐合成工作坊

盖娅•玛菲佐理不仅将让学员实时参与到一场数字音乐演出的创作过程中，当晚由中国艺术家孟奇和法国作曲家（哈佛大学音乐系客座教授）Jacopo Baboni Schilingi献上的电子乐、合成音乐和互动音乐演奏，将以当天学员创作出来的作品为开场再次创作即兴音乐，将持续产生音乐并与观众互动。

《静寂科幻片》/ 雅各布•巴博尼•施林吉、孟奇

雅各布•巴博尼•施林吉与孟奇将结合他们的模拟以及数字音乐创作魔力完成一些世界最古老科幻电影的放映：《机械男》（1921），《弗兰肯斯坦》（1910），《月球旅行》（1902）以及《沉睡的巴黎》（1925）。他们都是享誉世界的音乐家和音乐理论家们，凭借着他们跨学科的探索以及令人叹为观止的音域而著名。

王雅钰从5岁开始学习琵琶。此后，她在世界各地进行演出，从事跨领域的合作演员、书法家、画家甚至DJ。

雅钰将为由吴永刚于1934年执导的电影《神女》进行现场配乐。在这个源于“黄金时代”的伟大经典中，中国电影明星阮玲玉主演了一位年轻女子在上世纪30年代充满着不公正的社会中为了给儿子一个受教育的机会，挣扎着逃离卖淫的故事。

Classical Guitar Recital － By Yang Jie and Gao Rui

As a warm-up to their joint participation to an international guitar competition in the US, Yang Jie (杨杰) and Gao Rui (高蕊) will present an exclusive classical guitar recital at Meridian Space. After having both studied with internationally-acclaimed guitar performer Chen Zhi (陈志), they have gained a study following in China and earned many musical distinctions. They will interpret works by J. Broca, M. Giuliani, G. Regondi, E. Granados, R. Dyens and J.-S. Bach.

"I Create, Therefore I Play" - Digital music composition workshop

With Gaia Maffezzoli (Ensemble de musique interactive)

 

Thanks to this highly innovative digital composition workshop series, children and adults alike learn to use powerful software such as GarageBand, Idensity, MUSY or DM1, and to turn a simple tablet computer into a versatile music-making machine.

 

Teacher Gaia Maffezzoli is a professor of Digital Creation at the Conservatory of Montbéliard (France), and a teacher of Musical Composition at the Conservatory of Italian Switzerland in Lugano. She is also a member of France-based Ensemble de musique interactive, a gathering of musicians actively engaged in the making of real-time interactive music, blending instruments, electronics, and audience participation.

 

The workshops will take place in various languages:

• Sun. 10/26, 9.30 am-11.30 am: Children's workshop #1 (8 to 12 y.o.), in French and English.

• Sun. 10/26, 2.00 pm-4.00 pm: Children's workshop #2 (8 to 12 y.o.), in French and English.

• Sun. 11/02, 9.30 am-11.30 am: Children's workshop #3 (8 to 12 y.o.), in Chinese.

NOV. 1st: ADULT WORKSHOP

"Live Discovery" - Digital music composition workshop

With Gaia Maffezzoli (Ensemble de musique interactive)

"Live Discovery" is a workshop providing an introduction to the use of music-making techniques and instruments based on cutting-edge, world-class software (such as GarageBand, Idensity, MUSY, or DM1) and tablet computers. Participants will be guided through the fundamental aspects of creating, recording and editing digital music through various sound processing techniques on lightweight and powerful tablets available to the general public (such as iPads), and then include such musical threads into the greater scope of a live performance.

This workshop will take place on the afternoon preceeding a improvised live music performance, that same evening, at Meridian Space, by artists Jacopo Baboni Schilingi and Meng Qi — which will integrate some of the tunes created by the workshop attendees.

Access is limited to 12 students.

Jacopo Baboni Schilingi and Meng Qi will combine their analog and digital music-making witchcraft to accompany the screening of some of the world's most ancient science-fiction movies ever made: The Mechanical Man (1921), Frankenstein (1910), A Trip to the Moon (1902) and Paris Asleep (1925).

 

Both artists are renowned trail-blazing composers, performers and instrument-makers, noted for their transdisciplinary explorations and breathtaking soundscapes.

THE SINOPHILE'S GUIDE TO FRANCE － By SLOTH

SLOTH is a young trio of seasoned musicians, bound together by a deep love of jazz, poetry and improvisation: Laura Perrudin (harp, vocals), Florent Briqué (trumpet, effects) and Eric Perez (drums, vocals). On November 8th, as part of the Meridian Music and Film MiniFest, SLOTH will produce a live improvised soundtrack to an assortment of surrealist French and Chinese silent films.

NOV. 16th: MOVIE CONCERT

THE GODDESS － By Wang Yayu

Wang Yayu (王雅钰) began studying the pipa at age 5. Since then, she has performed all around the world, while engaging in transdisciplinary collaborations with actors, calligraphers, painters and even DJs.

 

Yayu will be producing a live soundtrack to the 1934 silent film The Goddess (Shennü), directed by Wu Yonggang. This great classic from the "golden age" of Chinese cinema stars actress Ruan Lingyu in the poignant role of a young woman struggling to escape from prostitution and give her son an education amid criminal injustice and social prejudices in 1930s China.
