    The march of the Communist liberation army into Beijing in 1949 is an almost mythological event in Chinese history. The painter Dong Xiwen created this picture of the incoming troops in 1950 and was subsequently selected that same year to create pictures of significant events in Chinese revolutionary history. Dong Xiwen is widely known for creating the picture "Founding Ceremony of the Nation." 

     

    1949年，解放军进入北京，这是中国历史上一个近乎神话般的事件。画家董希文于1949年创作了这幅描绘解放军入城式的画，随后同年被选中创作表现中国革命史上重大事件的画作。他更广为人知的是创作了油画《开国大典》。
