The Jane Goodall Institute partners with coffee farmers in Yunnan Province, China, to produce the Arabica “Jane Goodall Yunnan Low Carbon Coffee Blend.”
This initiative combines sustainable agriculture, climate action, and wildlife conservation. Farmers in Yunnan cultivate shade-grown Arabica coffee at high altitudes, helping preserve rainforest ecosystems and biodiversity while reducing carbon emissions. The project trains farmers in organic and low-carbon practices, such as composting, natural pest control, and soil regeneration.

The coffee is roasted by Arabica Roasters, founded by Mr. Stuart Eunson, who has been a longtime partner of WAB’s ProFarmer Club. Over several years, ProFarmer students, Arabica Roasters, and the Jane Goodall Institute have worked together to explore the connections between ethical production, environmental sustainability, and student learning.

A portion of the proceeds from this blend supports forest restoration and environmental education programs through the Jane Goodall Institute, led in Beijing by Ms. QianLei (Leia), Director of Roots & Shoots China.
This partnership demonstrates how student action, ethical business, and conservation organizations can collaborate for a more sustainable planet.
