为纪念北京建都870周年，我们从1890年至1950年，近百种老北京地图中精选出二十种不同历史时期、不同版本的珍贵地图原件，通过高清扫描方式制作成方寸大小的冰箱贴，让古老的北京城跃然掌中。

封面设计来自民国时期荷兰驻华大使的夫人爱伦·凯特林(Ellen Catleen），后更名 Ellen Thorbecke 爱伦·托尔贝克)女士拍摄影了大量老北京的风光、民俗照片。她遴选部分照片，配以适量文字，并由奥地利籍著名犹太漫画家费里德里希·希夫(F.H.Schiff)绘制滑稽漫画，编成一册结合优秀摄影作品和风趣漫画的旧京图集，于1934年在上海出版。书中通过虚构人物皮姆先生(Mr.Pim)及导游吴先生(Mr.Wu)的游览，再现了当时祥和、安静的北京城及北京人的生活。随后作者以 Ellen Thorbecke 的名字出版了系列与中国相关的摄影书籍，包括上海，香港。

The cover design is from the Republican era of China and showcases photographs of old Beijing taken by Ellen Catleen, the wife of the Dutch Ambassador to China. She later changed her name to Ellen Thorbecke. She captured numerous scenic and cultural images of old Beijing, carefully selecting some of the photos and adding captions. The book also includes amusing comics drawn by Friedrich Schiff, a renowned Jewish cartoonist of Austrian origin. This collection combines exceptional photography and witty cartoons, and it was published in Shanghai in 1934. The book takes readers on a journey through the tranquil and picturesque streets of Beijing, offering a glimpse into the daily lives of its residents through the fictional characters Mr. Pim and tour guide Mr. Wu. The author subsequently released a series of photography books related to China under the name Ellen Thorbecke, including books dedicated to Shanghai and Hong Kong.
