It’s the distinct personality, iconic location and lively characteristics that have made M on the Bund the longest standing fine dining restaurant on Shanghai’s historic Bund, since it opened in 1999.

Stylish décor meets welcoming and warm service, classic European cuisine with a modern twist is created with home-made and responsibly-sourced ingredients, and the restaurant’s spacious terrace perfectly takes in both aspects of the Bund and the inspiring Lujiazui skyline, across the river.

M’s classic dishes are both beloved and renowned across China. Signature delights include Mandarin Beluga Caviar, M’s Crispy Suckling Pig, Slow-baked Salt-encased Selected Leg of Lamb, and of course, M’s Famous Pavlova. Distinctive dishes blend in Middle Eastern and North African influences, with seasonal inspirations of the M chefs complementing the nostalgic classics.

Just next door to M on the Bund is Glam, the casual yet stylish lounge & bar serves an eclectic menu and hosts a variety of live performances and chic events; a core part of the M philosophy is to bring the community quality cultural events and diverse entertainment. Glam now hosts the annual Shanghai International Literary Festival, founded by Michelle, as well as frequently holding history talks, chamber music recitals, visiting DJs and performance art.

The ‘M’ in M on the Bund is Michelle Garnaut, the trail-blazing Australian who has become a legend in China’s culinary scene thanks to her uncompromising, entrepreneurial spirit and drive to stay true to M on the Bund’s originality.
