1990年成立于芬兰首都赫尔辛基，先是以一张小样获得Relapse唱片公司一纸合约，随后在1992年发表处子作品《The Karelian Isthmus》，独特的芬兰式死亡金属、浓厚的史诗战场气氛，他们迈出了传奇的第一步。两年之后，永恒的经典、传奇作品《Tales from the Thousand Lakes》（千湖传说），融合厄运金属与民谣金属，同时加入死亡、前卫甚至迷幻的音乐元素，在以芬兰著名民族史诗《卡勒瓦拉》为蓝本的歌词环绕下，呈现出深邃迷人的时空之旅。专辑为乐队赢得了巨大的声誉，他们成为了九十年代中期最具代表性的芬兰金属乐队，同时也是历史上第一次有乐队将芬兰千湖之国的独特的气质与金属美学完美结合。但乐队并未就此停止脚步，在随后的几年里，陆续发行了《Elegy》、《Tuonela》、《Am Universum》三张充满实验/前卫构思的精彩作品。更加大胆超群的音乐理念、丰富精彩的配器运用，AMORPHIS再次为金属音乐在世纪之交的时间点上打开了新的维度。

在老东家Relapse旗下的最后一张专辑《Far from the Sun》以直白的曲风送走了老主唱，而新主唱Tomi开声便以《Eclipse》震惊乐坛。清嗓与死嗓的再度交织、旋律与节奏的重新升华，这种更加强调史诗悲壮感与现实旋律感的风格在随后的《Silent Waters》与《Skyforger》中变得更加纯熟，而以芬兰语创作歌词，随后再译成英文的做法也更加传神地传达了芬兰民族史诗中的独特气质。

在蜕变成为芬兰乐坛旋律金属霸主之后，乐队陆续交出《The Beginning of Times》、《Circle》以及《Under the Red Cloud》三张顶尖水准的旋律金属佳作。乐队关注的主题也愈加广泛，从史诗般的善恶之争到个人命运再到现实一体的深度反思，再度实现了自我超越。2015年，AMORPHIS在最新专辑《Under the Red Cloud》中将多年的心力汇为一坛，以前所未有的强势发挥，集结成激动人心的音乐宣言，而他们也将挟新专辑再度来华，为乐迷全面展现他们二十多年的传奇音乐旅程！

Founded in 1990 with the name ‘Amorphis’, the band was determined to follow no vision but its own. And after more than 25 years later, they still remain the most talented band in metal music history.

From the 1992 debutthey started the journey, this debut showcased many of the elements that would soon become their trademarks. Majestic, doom-laden riffs combined with folk-influenced guitar leads and atmospheric keyboard passages set this album apart from many of its contemporaries and offered a glimpse of future greatness. Just 2 years later, another classic album came out under their name——. This is a concept album based on the Finnish national epic, the Kalevala. While still strongly rooted in the death metal tradition, it already branched out beyond the usual confinements of the genre. The boldest step toward a new direction was the addition of clean vocals, which will soon become another highlight.

After 3 progressive tinge albums ,,, they have made their name even in the rock scene. With the release of and the arrival of new vocalist Tomi, opened another chapter in the band’s history. This album recounted the fate of Kullervo, the most tragic character of the Kalevala. The vast dramatic scope of the ancient tale provided the canvas for Amorphis to paint an all-encompassing masterpiece which went straight to the top of the Finnish charts, as did the accompanying single House of Sleep. Its followers and continued to push this style to its perfect stage.

From the 10^th album , Amorphis has showed their talent under the melodic metal frame. The 11^th release is a strong evidence that they are one of the best melodic metal act in the world. In the latest album , they switch the view to more realistic topic ,but as always, the music remain amazing for both old fans and new followers. As the pioneer of finnish metal scene, Amorphis pushes their music boundary with every excellent album, this is truly a legendary journey for both the band and all you fans.
