JOJO MAYER & NERVE

JOJO MAYER & NERVE由来自纽约，数次被世界最权威的MODERN DRUMMER杂志评选为当今世界带领节奏潮流的鼓大师。他们的音乐融合了时下最时尚、最前卫的音乐元素，如DRUM&BASS、DUBSTEP、TECHNO、BROKEN BEAT等。并从一开始就坚持NO LOOP、NO SEQUENCER、NO DRUM MACHINE，完全用真人真乐器的方式来演奏电子乐。他们在纽约定期举办的PROHIBITED BEATZ派对数次被多个时尚、音乐杂志评为“纽约最值得一看的现场音乐和纽约最酷的声音”。每次演出都能吸引众多派对动物和时尚音乐人的光临，所有人都在他们所营造的音乐梦幻空间里疯狂起舞。他们每年在欧洲的巡演场场爆满，在俄罗斯最顶级的Club演出，150美金的门票在数小时内销售一空，同时JOJO MAYER & NERVE乐队也被誉为当今世界最具革命性和创造性的乐队。

JOJO MAYER & NERVE 2014 " THE DISTANCE BETWEEN 0 & 1"

Over the past decade, the JZ Festival has grown to become the largest jazz festival in China. To commemorate their 10th Festival Anniversary, the JZ Group has put together their most distinguished lineup of world-class musicians to date in Shanghai. There are also three jazz masters’ performances in Yugong Yishan, Beijing, as a part of JZ Festival, including Jojo Mayer & Nerve, Snarky Puppy and Marcus Miller.

JOJO MAYER & NERVE

The brainchild of Jojo Mayer evolved out of the legendary party event Prohibited Beatz in NYC during the late 90's. Initially a platform for experimental interaction between DJ's, musicians and the audience, his collective eventually developed into a fine tuned group that cross-pollinated the premeditated format of programmed electronic music styles with real time, improvised music performance. Within that format, the band assimilated a wide spectrum of electronic styles from old school Jungle, Dub Step or Glitch beats to Minimal, Deep and Tech House and anything that could escape genre descriptions yet.

In the process, the group managed to acquaint a new audience with improvised music for the first time and ultimately bring the Jazz tradition of improvisation, driving rhythms and stylistic evolution to the digital age.

NERVE re-examines and transcends the relationship between human creativity and digital technology and created a new form of musical expression which is completely unique in the world today.
