2013《觉》音乐+艺术节：

加拿大当红流行电子创作女伶Grimes中国巡演

Grimes是去年全世界乐坛最红火最潮流的名字之一。这个在在潮人汇集的加拿大蒙特利尔土生土长的女孩，年纪轻轻就已经发行了三张专辑，自称从没拥有过手机的，总给人特立独行、古灵精怪的印象。

去年签约了独立大厂4AD之后，Grimes将工业、电子、嘻哈、R&B甚至中世纪音乐等创作元素融入到自己的音乐中，配合上自己妖媚诡异的嗓音，制作出震惊乐坛的惊世专辑《Visions》。这张专辑一经推出便受到绝对的青睐，《纽约时报》称之为“2012年度最让人印象深刻的专辑之一”，英国卫报评价“音乐的片段好像听起来似曾相识，整体却是独一无二前所未有”。而年终各大音乐媒体的专辑和单曲榜单前三，也证明了她的实力和受欢迎程度。

《觉》音乐+艺术节简介：

觉/ JUE, 动词：感知，觉醒。《觉》音乐+艺术节是一年一度由Split Works在上海和北京两地举办的开源艺术音乐节。今年即将五岁的《觉》，一直致力于彰显这两座城市中最了不起的本土创意团体，并热情邀请来自于世界的优秀艺术家来到中国展示自己的才华。在为期两周的节日里，《觉》活动将在北京和上海的一系列不同场馆中举行。表演艺术、电影、诵读音乐、街头艺术、工作室、摄影展、现场音乐会、还有些许疯狂… 所有这些都被容纳在《觉》宽容的怀抱中。《觉》的发展每年都在登上一个新的台阶。2012年我们总共举办了88场活动，吸引了39,000位观众！相信今年的《觉》会更加精彩，活动详细请见官网

Grimes is an artist that gleefully defies classification. Having shed labels such as “post-Internet,” “grave wave” and witch house as quickly as others change socks, Grimes (neé Claire Boucher) creates a total visual and audio experience that cuts across genres as disparate as New Age, glitch, K-pop and industrial dance music (IDM) for one of the most creative voices of the new millennium. Her 2012 4AD debut Visions has landed on the year-end Top-10 lists of the Guardian, Pitchfork, Q, NME among scores of others.

Building on the schizophrenic, all-encompassing influences of her earlier releases Halfaxa, Darkbloom and Geidi Primes, the songs on Visions express the tensions that form the heart of her music: “the marriage between the voice of a human and the heartbeat of a machine” (Bullett Magazine). Throughout the album, Grimes harnesses her alien-princess vocals and freewheeling looping harmonies with laser-sharp focus to craft perfect electro pop gems.

This March, Split Works and JUE | Music + Art welcome Grimes to China. We invite all music fans to be a part of something like they have never experienced before.

What is JUE | Music + Art Festival?

觉 / JUE (pronounced joo-eh) –verb: to sense; to awaken. JUE | Music + Art is an annual open-source arts and music festival in both Shanghai and Beijing, presented by Split Works. Now in its fifth year, JUE is all about celebrating the best of the local creative communities in these two great cities and inviting artists from around the world to showcase their talent in China. JUE is a collaborative, open-source affair. Each individual event organizer is entitled to set their own entrance fee and to keep 100% of the proceeds. JUE is growing tremendously year-on-year. The 2012 festival drew over 39,000 attendees to 88 events! But we always strive to maintain a strong sense of community, an intimate vibe, and a top-tier selection of artists and events.
