The program is based in Guangxi Province, home of some of the most beautiful karsts in the world and a mecca for sport climbers and outdoor adventurers from all walks of life.  Students will arrive to Guilin airport and be met by our Insight instructors before taking a bus to the most popular climbing destination in China, Yangshuo. 

After checking in the hotel, Insight instructors will lead some team games and icebreaker activities to allow campers time and space to get to know each other. 

After dinner, an opening ceremony will be held in the hotel, and everyone will set their goals & expectation for the week.

The morning begins with an introduction to climbing history, the gear and safety equipment students will use throughout the week as well as a lesson on ropes and knot tying related to top rope climbing.  

After breaking for lunch, all participants will be transferred to one of Yangshuo’s most famous natural climbing sites where they can put their new learned knowledge to the test.  Our instructors will explain and demonstrate how to climb and give everyone an opportunity to experience it for themselves before heading back to the hotel for the night.

After having learned how to use all the equipment and basic climbing theory, students will be taught the ins and outs of how to belay at Yangshuo’s Swiss Cheese climbing site. 

Insight instructors will spend the morning teaching all the participants specific techniques and principles of belaying to make sure everyone understands how the systems work before starting putting it into practice. Safety is our priority, hence only when our instructors determine that students have passed the belaying practice session will they be able to belay on their own. 

This day is all about practicing, students will be given an opportunity to show off their skills they have learned over the last three days, refining their belaying and climbing techniques and being able to have some fun while enjoying the beautiful scenery. 

After a long day of climbing student will head back to the hotel for some much needed rest and recuperation.

The day will begin with students transferring to our very own Insight Base Camp to experience  some of our most popular activities in Yangshuo, zipline and abseiling. 

Participants will stretch their comfort zones and conquer their fears as they zip between two cliff faces before abseiling down the otherside. Insight instructors will be explaining and demonstrating proper abseiling technique in a safe way giving the campers more useful skills for climbing and mountaineering. 

In the afternoons students will be given another opportunity to refine their climbing skills before heading back to Yangshuo for another good night’s rest.

After having learned all the facets of top rope climbing and abseiling, this morning session is designed to see how much mastery participants have learned throughout the program, as well as giving everyone an opportunity to ask any questions before using all of their knowledge on the final climb of the week. 

In the afternoon, Insight instructors will run a workshop on how to set up individual customized training plans in order for students to continually improve their climbing skills and reach their goals after leaving the camp.

After a long and tiring week of climbing and skill building, students have an opportunity to get feedback from our Insight Instructors and say their goodbyes before heading back home.
