双主唱截然不同的音色加上野兽般的音乐创作野心，造就来自英格兰独立大厂Domino Record旗下最具杀伤力的摇滚乐团Wild Beasts。这支曾入围水星奖提名的英伦奇幻乐团不久之前刚结束在美国的巡演，所到之处都出现火速完售的盛况。11月，Wild Beasts中国专场将在北京和上海上演，中国乐迷终于也可以在现场一睹他们的风采！

从2004年起，Wild Beasts连推三张EP，向世人展现他们的音乐魔力。2006年受BBC 6 Music的邀请举办小型演唱会，主唱Hayden Thorpe性感妖娆的独特唱腔和怪异奇特的乐团曲风立即赢得耳尖乐迷的追捧。随后，他们的第一首单曲《Brave Bulging Buoyant Clairvoyants》在当年的英国独立唱片单曲榜打入Top 17。07年初，眼光独到的英国独立大厂Domino Record自信满满地将乐团纳入门下，5月又被权威音乐杂志NME评为十大明日之星乐团之一。这一切顺风顺水的机遇和荣耀，让Wild Beasts在发行专辑之前就在英国独立乐圈刮起一阵旋风，成为众目焦点。

08年乐团的首张专辑《Limbo，Panto》歇斯底里地唱出超乎22岁青春年少的成熟，一经推出，Pitchfork、NME等乐媒大咖不吝予以高评。隔年推出二专《Two Dancers》的Wild Beasts依旧势不可挡，除刷爆各大乐媒评论并荣登各大榜单，还获得独立音乐最高殊荣水星奖的提名，成为当时英国最闪亮耀眼的乐坛新星之一。

2011年第三张专辑《Smother》的横空出世更是掀起史无前例的如潮好评。疯狂野兽摇身变为优雅的神兽。主唱Hayden 丝绒般虚无缥缈的假声吟唱和二号主唱兼贝斯手Tom的低沉音色，声线深浅搭配完美。整张专辑呈现出宁静悠远的意境，仿佛置身于飘雪的北欧森林，引人无尽回味遐想。《Smother》听来比《Two Dancers》更具深度，内敛韵味的嗓音搭配低调内涵的旋律，多了电气的润泽，火力掌控地恰到好处。可以说，乐团每一次的进步都是大家有目共睹的！

四年内三张专辑的发行频率和《Smother》发行后永无止境的演出将Wild Beasts拉入一个枯燥乏味的漩涡。于是，他们决定停下脚步静心休整。望穿秋水的3年后，第四张专辑《Present Tense》如约而至，一经推出就直捣英国专辑榜Top 1。这张新作与上张略有不同，散发着愈加浓郁的英伦气息。纵观整张专辑，引入大量电气化元素，乐队也提及这张专辑的大部分作品是通过电脑完成的。开篇曲《Wanderlust》一反乐队意气昂扬的风格，以低气压式的合成器音色开场，伴随沉稳的电子节拍，高亢炽热的旋律逐渐响亮，不变的是Hayden深情的中性嗓音。而《A Simple Beautiful Truth》则是一首小情歌，简单而美好，能闻到丝丝R&B的韵味。Wild Beasts对各种曲风悠游自若的驾驭能力，令人惊叹。

Wild Beasts玩的并不是人们乍听就能够轻易融入的曲风，结合了各种元素难以定义，正因如此，让乐迷对他们的现场更加期待，这绝对会是今年国内最夺人眼球的重磅演出之一！

Split Works cannot wait to share with our friends in China one of our most favourite bands of recent years.  On November 14^th and 15^th, Wild Beasts will be hitting up Shanghai and Beijing for a very overdue first pair of shows which follows on from sold out venues on both coasts of the US.

Wild Beasts have been critically acclaimed since their beginning. A departure from the mainstream, Wild Beasts is a rare breath of fresh air in global top 10 charts. The quartet welcomes the weird, bundling an eclectic collection of influences into a beautiful symphony that speaks to the idiosyncrasies of humanity. Now, music lovers in China will get a chance to taste the poetic strangeness of one of Britain’s most vital and innovative bands. 

Growing up together in the rural town of Kendal, Northern England, Wild Beasts have been friends from childhood. The boys have spent years producing extraordinary records and shows along the way. Their migration from their hometown to Leeds in 2005 and the addition of fellow Kendal boy Tom Fleming on bass lent the band a sense of adventure and legitimacy.  As Tom puts it: “I thought it was completely mad, but I could see they were completely making their own world, and that was something I wanted to be a part of.”

A Domino Records deal was struck in 2007 and since then, the quartet has released four albums. The first of these, Limbo, Panto, set them up for a dizzying schedule of tours. The public loved their playful humour and bravado, and Wild Beasts went on to release the suavely grooving Two Dancers in 2009 followed by the swooning, swooping Smother in 2011.

In February 2014, they presented us with Present Tense, an album that ended a year’s hiatus during which the band reset themselves after years of relentless touring. It is a dramatically new direction that takes cues from an intensity and effervescence of sound that would sit well alongside signature moments of the 80s and 90s. Classic electronic sounds are rethought and retooled with exquisite detail for the 21^st century.

Alongside its breathtakingly leap forward in production, Present Tense also finds the band at the peak of their considerable song writing powers – each one of the album’s eleven tracks illuminates the precious, tender, sad and funny moments of modern life in trademark plain-spoken poetics.
