Party Congress Pre-Brief: What Businesses Should Know

The upcoming 19th National Party Congress in China is expected to mark the beginning of President Xi Jinping's second, five-year term as China's top leader and set in motion a series of changes to senior positions within the party and government. The party congress, scheduled for October this year, will also establish policy priorities for the subsequent five years — and perhaps indicate the direction of economic reforms.

The US-China Business Council (USCBC) is pleased to invite you to a breakfast briefing with Jude Blanchette, Associate Engagement Director at The Conference Board’s China Center for Economics and Business in Beijing, to discuss expected outcomes and what is important for companies to look out for in the upcoming meetings. Blanchette coordinates the Center's research on China's political environment, with a focus on the workings of the Communist Party and its impact on the domestic business environment. His book, Under the Red Flag: The Battle for the Soul of the Communist Party in a Reforming China, will be published by Oxford University Press in 2018.

Breakfast will be provided.
