Students will depart Shanghai in the morning and arrive in Moganshan around lunch-time. After checking into the guest house students will take part in ice breakers and team activities which allows everyone time to get to know each other and test their abilities to work together before settling down to discuss the week’s program.

After breakfast and a short introduction to the day, participants will be split into teams where the challenge is to hike to a variety of checkpoints in the beautiful bamboo forests of Moganshan using a compass and a topographical map. 

After completing the morning’s challenge, the groups will have lunch before learning about setting up a tent, camp etiquette and preparing and cooking their own food before having a night of camping at our outdoor base. 

The day begins with an introduction to wilderness survival where students learn about fire lighting using only flint and steel as well as working together in a group to build a livable shelter from bamboo, rope and leaves. 

Having tested their ability to survive in the wild, in the afternoon participants make their way through an obstacle course suspended in mid air encouraging each other throughout the challenge to overcome their fears.

After completing the challenge course the day before, students will have another opportunity to test and hone their individual climbing skills in a controlled and safe environment on our very own artificial rock wall. 

The afternoon will be spent out on the lake learning kayaking skills and completing team challenges on the water. 

After breakfast, students will be able to implement their knowledge and experience from the week in some final experiential learning activities before sitting down in a circle for their last group reflection activity and feedback from our Insight instructors. Participants will finish with a farewell ceremony and be handed their camp completion certificates prior to their departure back home.
