Tom Pattinson is a Beijing based art consultant. Formerly of the Sunday Times London, Tom was appointed editor in chief of Time Out Beijing from 2005 to 2009. He writers for a number of publications including Esquire and Vogue and comments on Chinese art and contemporary culture for many news organizations. Tom is director of SURGE Art, an online and offline platform for discovering emerging artists in China and a major annual fair now occurring in Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu and Guangzhou.
