Activity Introduction

IWCPP will hold an international photography conference on January 25 – 26, 2016 in Kuala Lumpur of Malaysia. We have invited six international top wedding and portrait photographers to share their valuable experiences in lighting, posing, pre- and post- wedding workflows, photo retouching skills etc.

Six international top photographers: Ryan Schembri (WPPI Triple Master), Jeremy Chan (WPPI Master), Johnson Wee (WPPI Score 100, FMPA), Xiao Wu, Muse Chan, and Kenn Foo!

Ryan Schembri

Being the Triple Master of WPPI (there are only 8 people in the world so far having this title), Ryan is also Australia's youngest ever master of photography with AIPP at the age of 20.  Ryan Schembri has been awarded the 2012 AIPP Australian Wedding Photographer of the Year and a three-time winner of the NSWAIPP Wedding Photographer of the Year titles.

Being the current Chairman of Jurors with the Canon AIPP Australian Professional Photography Awards, Ryan's involvement in the awards system goes back nearly 12 years and has been a WPPI judge for the past 8 years.

Johnson Wee

JOHNSON WEE is rated as one of the fastest rising stars in the Wedding Photography industry. With just 4 and a half years of experience, the young Malaysian based wedding photographer has garnered 4 prestigious awards at the 2014 WPPI print competition, making him an 8 time WPPI winner. He is also the only Asian Photographer to score a perfect 100 points in the WPPI competition history, attaining 1 platinum and 3 gold distinction awards. Following his astounding achievements, Johnson has to date received 156 international awards from competitions around the world.

In just a short span of 6 months, he has been recognized and awarded the "Fellow of Master Photographers" (FMPA) at the Master Photographers Association (MPA,UK) which the highest qualification within the association. Fellow defines outstanding exhibition of an individual being innovative, artistic, creative and that their work demonstrates the leading edge in the art of photography.

Jeremy Chan

Jeremy is Main retoucher and art director of JEZA Photography based in San Francisco, California USA. He and his wife Zabrina is the holders of WPPI Accolade of Photographic Mastery (APM) and WPPI Accolade of Outstanding Photographic Achievement (AOPA) and Master of WPPI.

He has been in the graphic design industry for more than 10years. He has changed the face of retouched photography. Using her signature photo retouched skills, Jeremy has become the world’s most famous master Photoshop transformer.

His work has been published on various publications including International Master Photographer Vol 1, Vogue Italia's Photovogue, Vanity Fair, Cosmopolitan Bride China, Elle Wedding Hong Kong, Stuff Magazine UK & many other international publications. He has spoke & taught classes at WPPI, ImagingUSA, SONY USA, SONY Hong Kong & SONY China.

 

Muse Chan

Muse Chan has been working on photography, graphic design and music education for more than twenty years. Muse graduated from Hong Kong Design First Institute and he was a judge in the Guangzhou Print Competition of Master Photographer Association (MPA) in 2015.  Muse is one of the ambassador of Profoto in Asia. With his particular aesthetic feeling and color application, he uses his lens and applies light and shadow to present portrait works which are rich in artistic aesthetics. He was invited by many countries (such as Italy, Turkey, Malaysia, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Spain) to hold photography workshop.

  

Kenn Foo

Being blessed with the gift of artistic senses, Kenn had developed a deep interest in arts and creativity ever since he was a young child. Even so, his previous career was no where near to photography and it was not until 2010 when he stumbled across many wedding photographs while researching for his own wedding day arrangements. He was amazed by how wedding moments are both created and captured, and it was then his interest and passion for wedding photography grew.

Being an artistic person that he is, kenn was keen on infusing his gifted skills into his works but it was not well accepted and he his works were badly bashed by many when he first started. But he never gave up his passion and held onto his dream of becoming an award winning wedding photographer; and just barely a year into his photography career, kenn’s unique vision and his relentless effort had proven worthwhile. He was crowned one of Asia’s Top 30 Wedding Photographer and also won numerous prestigious awards and accolades from multiple photography associations. He was also voted as one of the Top 10 Wedding Photographer in Malaysia by TallyPress and also had made an appearance in the recent Canon Photo Face-Off Season 2 reality TV show; as one of the guest judges.

Although winning awards and recognitions bring personal satisfaction to his career, nothing can inspire him more than capturing unforgettable and precious moments for his couples. Kenn sets it as a personal goal to create unique photographs in each of his assignment and strives his best to provide the best experience for his couples.

To him, it’s not only about the beauty of the photographs, but it’s the overall experience that matters.

 

 

Xiao Wu 小武

Jack once was a graphic designer, but became a wedding photographer since he has a great passion for photography. With his previous experiences and aesthetic feeling, he successfully created a new stage at wedding photo by his unique wonderful sense and idea.  He was a lecturer of wedding photography for the Taiwan Cultural University, and was also a writer of several best selling photography books in Taiwan.  He recently obtained his best achievement so far in WPPI by getting the second place in the Individual session.
