We have solid data that Harvard have leading percentage and absolute numbers of entrepreneurs among world’s best universities.

We also believe that Harvard alum should interact more to form even tighter communities.

Here in Beijing, we are setting up an angel group, through which alum can work together and support each other for long-term success.

Who Are Harvard Angels?

• Harvard Alumni Angels started in 2007, and became a global alumni organization now.
• Internationally, Harvard Angels have invested in over 100 companies. 
• Today, the HBS Alumni Angels organization is comprised of Harvard alumni interested in investing in companies in angel and other stages.
• Harvard Angels Group was started by HBS alum, expanded and is open to all Harvard alumni.

Why start Harvard Angels Network in Beijing?

• The Place: Beijing, one of the largest cities in China, centers the country’s movie industry, finance industry, technology hub and political power. With these markets all converging in one city, Beijing is primed for being one of the leading start-up hubs in the world.
• The entrepreneurship community: there are over 400,000 tech companies in Beijing, 90 universities and over 600 institutional investors. Tech companies examples include Baidu, Didi, Meituan-Dianping etc.
• The Harvard Community: over 1,000 Harvard Alums and 300 HBS Alums, many of whom are entrepreneurs, running or working with top tier investment firms.

Third Planet, by Zi WANG

Zi co-founded Third Planet, a blockchain company that focus on the future of residential homes. Our business is to create & protect values for the global real estate ecosystem: developers, investors and owners. We are on a mission to create new sales channels for developers, increase investor liquidity, and most importantly, we want to help millions of residents to have a
better home and a better way of living. Since 2006, Zi worked at Google as an engineer, PMM & PM. He was the first global creative director for the Android and co-founded Google ACME Lab. In 2015, Zi led a ventured backed startup to work with Corning, Google, and Toyota to develop next-generation AI products.

CoinAlpha, by Michael Feng

Michael is Co-Founder and CEO of CoinAlpha, a company that utilizes blockchain technology to make the $85 trillion asset management industry more open and efficient. CoinAlpha creates protocols for blockchain-based vehicles that are more transparent, liquid and efficient than traditional funds.Previously, Michael was Co-Founder and CEO of doxIQ, a company
that utilized computer vision to extract structured data from PDFs. After doxIQ was acquired by Nitro Software, he led product at Nitro. Michael started his career creating new financial products at Citigroup and JPMorgan, where he created and traded the first derivatives backed by mortgage-backed securities. Michael has a MS in Management Science from Stanford University and a BS in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania.

Qokka.ai, by Aaron Li

Aaron is the founder Qokka.ai. He was an engineer in machine learning at the Google Research (on core ML systems), NICTA (Australia's national lab, now part of CSIRO), and a lead engineer in the founding team at Scaled Inference, an AI startup backed by Vinod Khosla, David Wallerstein, and Michael Jordan. He won multiple awards, including the
prestigious ACM SIGKDD 2014 Best Research Paper Award on language topic modeling while
completing his M.S. in Language Technologies (Computer Science) at the Carnegie Mellon
University, an area he has been working on since before he finished his B.S. at Australian National University with quadruple majors in Computer Science, Mathematics, and Statistics. A Beijing native and New Zealand citizen, Aaron was granted "Einstein green card (EB-1A)" in the US to create fundamental, disruptive technologies for humans. He started mining Bitcoin since 2011.
