Hey Gluggers,

Studio Output and MetaDesign are excited to bring to you Beijing’s sixth Glug event on Migas’s infamous Rooftoop Terrace in Sanlitun for, “Why we all Eat Potatoes?: The Secret Power of Branding; What it is and Why it Works.”

As for the line up, we have three branding guru’s, who, for one night only are going to share their branding secrets, stories and what they’ve learnt to help you along your branding journey.

Hailing from Rome, Mauro has spent over 20 years working in China, 15 of which were spent working in communication and branding. Mauro has helped a variety of brands make their mark including Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts, Swire Properties, IKEA, Scandinavian Airlines, Star Alliance, Minsheng Bank, Longhu Properties, Reckitt Benckiser, Monmilk, Volkswagen and Skoda. In true italian spirit Mauro makes a mean Tirasimu and when not spending time with his family can be found bashing away at the drums.

Tom van Dillen - Managing Director of GREENKERN Group

"The Right Stuff: Learnings from Our Interplanetary Escapades"

During Tom van Dillen's sixteen years in Mainland China, he has been involved in many unique and groundbreaking projects including the first collaboration between Chinese Education TV and the BBC and a comprehensive campaign to brand Europe as the #1 destination for China's growing middle class. 
Tom has a deep understanding of brand dynamics and their impact on China's ever-developing society. Bridging the gap for many multi national companies in China, he spearheaded initiatives for BMW, BOEING, Bayer, PHILIPS and Volkswagen. 
Tom is also an avid photographer: his work has appeared in many well-known print and online publications. On weekends, Tom escapes the frenetic life of the city for the relative tranquility of his cottage, which sits at the foot of the Great Wall. 
Tom set up and runs the GREENKERN office in Beijing.
