Born at Google: Search Inside Yourself
2-Day Workshop
2018: Friday, December 7 Saturday, December 8
Are you a business leader seeking to Inspire by connecting and aligning with your stakeholders?
Are you a senior executive trying to deal with multiple stressors and still be a high performer?
Are you a decision maker in people development with an intent to cultivate a sense of happiness and unified meaning that permeates the workplace?
You are invited to experience Search Inside Yourself (SIY), the leadership program that introduces practical tools for focus, self-awareness and resilience.
Backed by world experts in neuroscience, mindfulness and emotional intelligence, Search Inside Yourself has already changed thousands of lives in over 100 cities around the world.
Born at Google in 2007 with unprecedented popularity among Google employees, this leadership program spread to Ford, SAP, LinkedIn, American Express, Roche and other global corporations.
The SIY program in English was conducted in China for the first time in December 2016 in Shanghai followed by (3) more workshops in 2017 and 2018. There have been close to 200 attendees from companies and associations such as Merck, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), YUM!, Deloitte, Tod’s Luxury, Thermo Fisher, ADIDAS, Shanghai Centre, Dow, National Football League (NFL), Harley-Davidson, Shanghai American School, China Business News Daily, Jiemian Media, Didi Chuxing, McCain Foods, Crain Company, American Chamber of Commerce Shanghai, Australian Chamber of Commerce, MBA Bibles and Smart Shanghai.
WHO ARE THE TEACHERS
Given the solid response from the attendees of previous SIY workshops in Shanghai (December 2016 / August 2017 / December 2017/May 2018), Octave is excited to bring SIY to Shanghai on Friday, December 7 and Saturday, December 8 with (2) interntional stellar practitioners.
Craig Davis
Craig is a serial entrepreneur (having started or partnered in 11 ventures since university and having worked in 5 more), a creative industry leader, acclaimed CMO. And one of a select few Certified SIY Teachers in the world.
He grew up in small country towns and was a surprised and delighted, some years later, to be living and working all over the world as Chief Creative chief for J Walter Thompson. Craig helped global companies like Toyota, HSBC, Proctor& Gamble, Coca Cola, Sony, Vodafone, PayPal, Virgin and Unilever, and win a shed-load of international awards. But this success came at a high price physically and emotionally and he decided to change direction to explore more ‘conscious’ ways of living and working.
Craig is a passionate believer in creating satisfying and sustainable business success and does his best to practice what he teaches. He is Co-Founder and CMO of digital disrupter Sendle, a technology startup taking on Australia Post by making parcel delivery simple, reliable and affordable for small and medium-sized businesses, Sendle has made the AFR’s list of Top 10 Most Innovative Companies in Australia two years in a row, is Australia’s first certified technology B Crop, Australia’s first 100% carbon neutral delivery service, and a Telstra Business Award winner.
Craig has also been named as one of Australia’s Top 10 CMOs for each of the last two years. In his spare time, he hangs out with friends and family (wife and three teens), sails, surfs, rides, reads, blogs, meditates and does yoga, and he’s still the fastest Australian to run a marathon at the North Pole.
Besides the stuff, Craig is Adjunct Professor at the University of Technology Sydney’s Business School, a guest lecturer at UNSW, and a keynote speaker represented exclusively by Saxton.
Linda Curtis
Our first female SIY practitioner to join us in Shanghai - Linda has held senior positions at U.S. Bancorp, the Harris bank of Chicago and led an award-winning business development team at Visa. Linda has consulted with hundreds of private and corporate clients such as MASTERCARD, NASDAQ OMX, ORACLE, WALGREENS and YAHOO.
Linda attended DePaul University, where she studied organizational development and did post-graduate work at the University of Chicago’s Graham School of Continuing Education, the American Management Association and Visa’s Bankcard Management School. She is a graduate of the Integral Coaching Program at New Ventures West.
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
SIY teaches emotional intelligence skills that lead to sustained peak performance, strong collaboration and effective leadership.
Learn mindfulness and attention training to increase your self-awareness, which can be applied to a wide variety of situations to respond thoughtfully, rather than react defensively.
Develop your empathy to communicate more effectively.
Increase your resilience and bounce back from setbacks with a growth-oriented mindset.
Create head space to unleash creativity and innovative thinking.
Putting all of these traits into practice creates a positive emotional and mental state which is the foundation of strong and inspiring leadership presence.
Over two days in person and four weeks of virtual follow-up, the SIY program is focused on equipping you with a set of practical skills to take back to your workplace and apply immediately.
