WHAT WE WILL DO?

IOT (Internet of Things) is one of the most important elements in the world's future. But all the IoT devices are predefined and closed. You can not open it and change the behaviour.

But what if we make it so simple that anyone can program it?

Tokymaker makes this possible. You don’t need any basics of electronics and programming.

In our hands-on training we will bring to reality your ideas. It can be a cross-border project, a particular day-to-day problem solution, a game or a prototype of your next million dollar idea.

Today we will mainly concentrate us on IOT.

What is Internet Of things?? It's the future!!!

Have a look here : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet_of_things

Some examples :

-Mind the umbrella

It is a simple project of a cute origami umbrella that opens when it is going to rain in the city you choose.

- Game

Have you ever programmed a multiplayer game? well, this was done in one afternoon!

-Lasertag

First DIY-Laser Tag ever. Super fun!

-Have also a look to tokylabs website to get inspired by the projects done by our community.

WELL THAT SOUNDS DIFFICULT! IS THAT FOR TOTAL BEGINNERS?

Absolutely! our own project-based learning system allows anyone to prototype, build and test the ideas in no time. No matter if you don't know about electronics, or it you never programmed before. After a short introduction you will be able to continue on your own. Promised.

WHAT IF I AM AlREADY EXPERIENCED?

The sky is the limit. You can go crazy on your inventions and make a Transformer if you want. The coding platform is based on Google Blockly, which means that you might be limited on complex coding structures, but the key on this activity is to get the ability to combine electronics (we have more then 40 sensors and actuators) and average programming to make real and functional prototypes.

CAN I BRING MY CHILD?

Yes, but please be with him/her during the workshop to follow it properly. It is not difficult, just that we think it can be a great family activity too.

AGENDA

9:00 to 10:00
  • Hands-on Introduction to Tokymaker. Understand the hardware
  • Intro to the Electronic Analog Sensors. How to use them?
  • Intro to the Coding Platform. How to code Tokymaker?
  • Intro to IOT. What can we do with IOT? How to use it?
10:00 to 11:00
  • BUILD SOMETHING AWESOME!
  • We will help you to come up with a great idea or game and make it happen.
  • Play, Brag, Share. You are an inventor now!

KEY LEARNING

  1. To be able to include sensors in your ideas.
  2. To be able to code and make sensors and actuators interact.
  3. To be able to do a prototype in 5 minutes.

WHAT TO BRING?

One of this devices:

  • Macbook <---Best option!
  • Android version 6.0+ device (tablet or phone)<--- Second best option
  • Windows 10 (with creators update)

WHERE?

Refunds are not possible, but you can transfer it to another person for the same date.
