About Secret Santa ❉ gift exchange

Secret Santa is a gift exchange, you bring a secret gift, wrap it, put it under the tree and later Santa will run a lucky draw to distribute the gifts.

But, please don’t go to taobao or shop to buy anything! Tidy your home and find out something you don’t need anymore: a book, a toy, clothes, any object that you don’t really use anymore. They are going to find a new owner and a second life.

Optionally, if you have, any recyclable/reusable materials that can be used for beautiful DIY wrapping: newspaper, craft paper, natural materials, scrap fabric, twine, hemp, jewellery...bring it along.

We will wrap the gift in the space together and work with kids to decorate packages with artcraft.

❉ Amazing playground for kids ❉

We will have activities supervised by professional teacher for young kids.

❉ Christmas movie! ❉

We will watch a Christmas movie in the afternoon

About the film: Charles Dickens, the great Victorian-era novelist, wrote A Christmas Carol in 1843, during a period when the British were exploring and re-evaluating past Christmas traditions, including carols and newer customs such as Christmas trees. Dickens had written three Christmas stories prior to the novella, and was inspired following a visit to the Field Lane Ragged School, one of several establishments for London's street children.

A Christmas Carol recounts the story of Ebenezer Scrooge, an elderly miser who is visited by the ghost of his former business partner Jacob Marley and the spirits of Christmas Past, Present and Yet to Come. After their visits, Scrooge is transformed into a kinder, gentler man. The story shows Scrooge as a paradigm for self-interest, and the possible repercussions of ignoring the poor, especially children in poverty—personified by the allegorical figures of Want and Ignorance.

A Christmas Carol turned into one of Charles Dicken’s most successful works, reprinted 13 times within only the first year of its release. Translated into many languages already during the 19th century, it was in 1901 for the first time adapted for film and subsequently a popular story for the screen. Director Robert Zemeckis, known for Castaway and Forrest Gump, was the last who got his hands on the plot to turn it into a Disney animated film in 2009.
