The technique of Rubbing is more than a thousand years old and is one of the ancient traditional techniques in China. The ancients had a cultural tradition of "carving on gold and stone makes information pass on forever", where they record important events on bronze ware or carve on the monument. For thousands of years, many antiquities have been damaged by wind, sun, and rain, or destroyed by natural disasters and military fire, or have completely disappeared in the long history. Using the technique of rubbing, the shape, pattern and text of the ancient bricks, inscriptions, ancient coins, oracle bones and other cultural relics can be clearly copied to the rice paper.

Mr. Lu Xun mentioned in "The Collection of Letters: To Wang Zhengshuo": "There is a package of rubbings, a total of 67 pieces, and they were well received on the same day." It is not difficult to see the literati's love for rubbings. Today, we can still get the original image from cultural relics, all relying on the handed down rubbings.
