A workshop with Kendall Zoller

Kendall Zoller, EdD, is an author, educator, researcher, and international presenter in communicative intelligence, presentation and facilitation skills, leadership and adaptive schools. He is co-author of The Choreography of Presenting: The 7 Essential Abilities of Effective Presenters (Corwin Press, 2010) and president of Sierra Training Associates. He has authored over three dozen reviewed book chapters and journal articles on topics of communication, community, and leadership for educators and law enforcement. His work on leadership and presentation skills takes him to schools, districts, universities, state agencies, and corporations across the United States, Canada, Europe, China, Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines. His lectures, presentations, and paper presentations include the campuses of Harvard, UC Berkeley, St. Anselm College, Boston University, University of Chicago, and Loyola University Maryland. Kendall has a doctorate in Educational Leadership a Masters in Educational Management.

Target audience:

Teachers and School Leaders who would like to develop skills in presenting to and engaging with larger audiences

Outcomes for participants:

In contexts such as school assemblies, parent meetings and other settings of 60-200 people, participants will learn and practise the skills to:

1. Establish credibility

2. Build Rapport

3. Listen and acknowledge participants

4. Effectively respond to participants

4. Recover with grace when things don’t go as planned

5. Develop an opening impact statement

6. Increase participant engagement

7. begin to develop consciousness of nonverbal patterns and how to become a flexible presenter

Practical details

Sunday 15th September: 9am-5pm with 1 hour for lunch and 20 minute breaks in the morning and afternoon

Monday 16th September: 9am-3pm with 1 hour for lunch and a 20 minute break in the morning

Cost

RMB 1200, for EARCOS member schools, to include refreshments during the day, excluding transport and hotels.  We are grateful that this workshop is subsidised with a generous Professional Learning grant from EARCOS.
