Join fellow alumni from the Princeton Alumni Association of Beijing, the Yale Club of Beijing, and the Oxford and Cambridge Club Beijing on Saturday 18th May for a day hike to the source of Beijing's water - the Miyun Reservoir. The hike will be led by Chinese-speaking experts from the environmental education NGO Nature University (自然大学, http://www.nu.ngo.cn/) and volunteer translators, who will introduce the reservoir and its environs in the morning, followed by a hike to the nearby mountains in the afternoon. The hike will be mostly easy walking with some slopes, and the Nature University considers the route appropriate for children and the elderly.
Please view these photographs of the stunning scenery we will be visiting:
In the middle of the day we will stop for a pot-luck style shared lunch in the outdoors. Please bring food for yourself and a bit to share with others. Some bread and spreads will be provided by the organisers. Please bring your own water as only one 0.5 L bottle of water will be provided for each participant.
Please wear comfortable walking shoes and layers of clothing. Also don’t forget sunscreen and a hat.
Please also bring your passport or Chinese ID, as we are travelling outside the Beijing municipality.
Tickets are 125 RMB for members of the Princeton Alumni Association of Beijing, paid-up members of the Yale Club of Beijing, and the Oxford and Cambridge Club Beijing, and 150 RMB for guests of members of the Clubs.
