Harvard Club of Shanghai invites you to join an exclusive dinner event with Dr. Helen Haste, Professor of the Harvard Graduate School of Education and University of Bath, UK.

Crossing cultural boundaries: do Chinese young people share the same values as Western youth?  Implications for education.

跨文化交流及其对国际教育的启示:中外年轻人是否拥有同样的价值观?

In seeking agendas for global education, there is a tendency to assume universal values that apply, and are valued, equally in all cultures.  While there are some common values, there are important differences in priorities, and in the meaning and implications of some core values.  This has implications both for global education and for students who cross cultural boundaries for their studies.  During her presentation, Professor Haste will compare youth perceptions of Chinese values with Western values.
