The 14th Five-Year Period is a critical period for China to achieve its carbon peaking and energy security objectives. This year, China has rolled out a slew of policies that undergird its “1+N” policy framework including the 14th Five-Year Plan on Modern Energy System Planning, the Mid- to Long-Term Development Plan for Hydrogen Energy 2021-2035, and the 14th Five-Year Plan on Renewable Energy Development. Against this backdrop, US companies in China view decarbonization as a top priority issue in their long-term business strategies.
In order to identify common challenges and opportunities for decarbonization prospects in China among members, USCBC conducted a survey in late March, garnering input from a diversified sectoral representation of members. Building on the results of USCBC’s benchmarking, we have launched a working group to focus on decarbonization priorities. USCBC is honored to present its key findings and bring members an expert briefing and Q&A on the policy direction of China’s decarbonization drive, the regulatory landscape for chemicals and related industries, and the compliance prospect for businesses. This event will feature a great lineup of speakers from academia, industry association, and law firm to share their insights on this topic of increasing gravity.
