Blender self-learning Workshop


Blender is a Free Software and Open Source 3D creation suite. It supports the entirety of the 3D pipeline—modeling, rigging, animation, simulation, rendering, compositing and motion tracking, even video editing and game creation. Blender is a public project, made by hundreds of people from around the world; by studios and individual artists, professionals and hobbyists, scientists, students, VFX experts, animators, game artists, modders, and the list goes on.

- About the speaker -




<Martin Bähr>, Free Software Architect / Copyleft Developer, has been building full stack web applications for more than 20 years. FOSS Advocate, mentoring students with FOSSASIA, as well as guiding various FOSS and other community groups across China.He is running Real SoftService, where he works to develop a School Management Platform for schools that don't fit the traditional classroom style teaching model. He is also a trainer, teaching javascript and Linux system administration. Martin got interested in Blender because he is part of the Star Trek Fan Film Community, that together have created 1000s of Fan Films based on the Star Trek universe ( https://startrekreviewed.com ).




ORGANIZER



Shanghai Linux User Group (SHLUG) (http://www.shlug.org), founded in July 1997 is the first LUG in China. We promote Linux and Free Software in Shanghai. In our community, we share the experience with using Linux and other Free Software and help each other. In the 20+ years SHLUG has been around, we have organized numerous offline meetups. We now have Hacking Thursday Night meetup every week and a sharing event each month surrounding a specific topic related to open source technology. We have a mailing list (Chinese) on http://groups.google.com/group/shlug and WeChat groups(Chinese) for online communications.



CO-ORGANIZER



Agora Space is an international co-working office located in Xuhui district, Shanghai. We are engineers, makers, traders, designers, and entrepreneurs working as freelance or running startup or business.



Coderbunker (http://www.coderbunker.com/) is an international community that helps talented developers grow into successful freelancers with their own personal brand. We connect freelancers with customers by helping customers find the right resource at the right price at the right time. Through our community branding, we’ve generated hundreds of such opportunities in the last year. We have 50 members growing at a rate of 3 members a month.
