我们非常荣幸地邀请到了剑桥大学图书馆馆长Anne Jarvis女士和首席研究员Ben Outhwaite博士参加本次“2015年中文数字出版与数字图书馆国际研讨会”，并作重要演讲。

Anne女士是剑桥大学图书馆650年历史中首位女性馆长。剑桥大学图书馆藏书超过八百多万册，在英国出版的任何图书或杂志，都要求免费提供给剑桥大学图书馆收藏。

Outhwaite博士是剑桥大学图书馆藏书研究室的负责人，他目前领导着一组团队从事翻译并保护近20万份在开罗所发现的古籍文献。

有关Anne馆长和Ben博士的详细介绍如下：

In 2009, Anne Jarvis was appointed University Librarian at The University of Cambridge Library – the first woman to hold the post in its 650 year history.  The Library is home to more than eight million books and volumes and is one of only six Legal Deposit libraries in the UK and Ireland - entitling it to a free copy of every book, journal, map and music published in the United Kingdom.  Anne had been Deputy Librarian at Cambridge University Library since 2000.  Her career in academic libraries began at Dublin City University, (DCU) in Ireland. She then moved to Trinity College Dublin where she took up the post of Sub-Librarian, Collection Management, before returning to the UK to take up her previous post at Cambridge. During this period she also served for two years as Vice-President at Wolfson College, where she has been a Fellow since 2000.

Dr. Ben Outhwaite is the Head of Cambridge University LIbrary's Genizah Research Unit, responsible for leading a team dedicated to delving into the 193,000 medieval Hebrew and Arabic manuscripts recovered from the Ben Ezra Synagogue in Old Cairo. He is a linguist by training, and has published works on the Hebrew language and medieval Jewish manuscripts. Most recently he has edited, with Siam Bhayro, a collection of papers on all aspects of Genizah Studies to celebrate the career of Stefan C. Reif, former director of the Genizah Research  Unit, 'From a Sacred Source: Genizah studies in honour of Professor Stefan C. Reif' (Brill, 2010).
