The Columbia Alumni Association of Beijing invites alums and their guests to a curated tour of the Poly Art Musuem on Saturday, September 24. The Poly Art Museum maintains an exquisite permanent collection of rare Chinese art objects and hosts special exhibitions. The permanent collection consists of ancient Chinese bronzes, including some that date to the Shang Dynasty (c. 1600-1046 B.C.E.), stone Buddhist iconography, ceramics from the Middle Period, and bronze animal heads originally installed at the Old Summer Palace.

The curated tour will be followed by a self-guided tour of the special exhibition, and then we would enjoy seeing you at the optional group dinner at renowned Peking duck restaurant Siji Minfu (四季民福) (located across the street from the Museum), which will start around 5:30 p.m.

The tour is free, but requires payment of a CNY100 deposit that is returned in full upon attendance. The reservation that includes dinner covers this deposit and payment of CNY128 for dinner.

Other details

Tour and dinner are limited to 30. Alums are welcome to bring up to one friend or two family members. The tour will begin promptly, so please arrive at the 9th floor by 4 p.m. Dinner will conclude by 7 p.m. If you reserve and are unable to attend, you may transfer your reservation, but please inform an organizer. Dinner is prepaid and may not be purchased separately. Reservations taken until 9 a.m., Friday, September 23.
