"Postmen in the mountains" is a moving tale of intergenerational bonding set in rural Hunan Province, China. The film was well received both abroad and in mainland China, where it won both Best Film and Best Actor at the 金鸡奖 (Golden Rooster Awards) in 1999.

-Plot-
After the old postman is forced to retire from his work due to bad knees, his son takes over. The old man decides to accompany his son on his first journey on a 115 km long way through the mountains. As they deliver mails to the villagers, the son, who hardly know his father, gets to understand and appreciate his father and his work more and more.
Two men, a dog and the mountains. The story is simple. However, it's simplicity doesn't fail to move one's heart. Learn, that a mailman job entails not just the sending of letters. Witness the old men's deep friendship with the villagers, a wedding celebration with the Dong people and the bonding between father and son.

Monique is a research scientist working on improving our air quality by using data analysis. As a movie lover, she and her partner organize cozy, afternoon movie events on a regular basis. Their movie group aims to create a relaxed atmosphere to watch and discuss movies and meet like-minded people.
Ken is an ex-information technology worker who went back to grad school in his later years to become an international school counselor. After a day's work with the kids, he likes to spend hours on youtube and talk about movies from different countries and different times. He especially likes older films with engaging dialogue as well as the occasional silly B-movie.
