If one thing's for sure, it's that Beijing is constantly changing. So whether you're new in town or settled in, we're pretty sure you've got a few things to learn.

Beijing Orientation Month (or Re-Orientation for you old-timers out there) is our way of bringing you the knowledge and skills you need to sail smoothly through life in Beijing.

For the first 3 weeks in September we're going to be hosting a dinner and 2 workshops at Culture Yard, our lovely Mandarin School and cultural events venue located in Beixinqiao.

Space is limited, so sign up soon. You're not gonna want to miss out.

Opening Dinner and Speciality Baijiu Tasting

with David Putney, co-owner of Capital Spirits

We’re kicking off Beijing Orientation Month with China’s drink of choice: baijiu. Join us in our lovely hutong courtyard as David, co-owner of Capital Spirits, guides you through a history and tasting of 3 unique varieties sourced from different regions of China. As we drink, an ayi will be serving a homemade Chinese dinner right from our kitchen. If you don’t feel like a Beijinger yet, you will after this.

Date: Saturday, September 3, 2016

Time and Location: 6:30 - 8:30pm @ Culture Yard (10 Shique Hutong)

Cost: 150 RMB

Space is limited.

WeChat 101

sponsored by Shangri-La Farms and Miss Muesli

Finally learn how to use the app of all apps. We’ll take you through the essentials for living in Beijing — WeChat wallet, ordering food, getting a taxi late at night in Sanlitun. And then we’ll go through the downright luxurious — in-house masseurs, organic food subscription services, even fresh bouquet delivery. If that weren’t enough, Shangri-La Farms and Miss Muesli will be providing participants goodies bags with the yummiest treats from their WeChat stores. If you think you know WeChat already, we promise you there’s still much more to learn.

Date: Sunday, September 11, 2016

Time and Location: 1 - 2pm @ Culture Yard (10 Shique Hutong)

Cost: 60 RMB

Space is limited.

How to Land Your Dream Job

with Samantha Kwok, Founder of Jing Jobs

If you’re looking for a new job, a better title, or simply higher pay, you won’t want to miss Samantha — founder of the immensely-popular job-listing platform, Jing Jobs — as she shows you how to achieve just that. She’ll focus on personal branding in China and lay out the key skills you need to impress your Chinese employer and get what you want. As it turns out, landing your dream job in Beijing doesn’t have to be a dream after all.
