Featuring: Ragnar Baldursson, Clare Wright; moderated by Stephen McDonell
Location: The Bookworm
Event Code: BW12E
Ragnar Baldursson and Clare Wright are both nonfiction writers with a keen sense of history. Baldursson’s book, Nineteen Seventy-Six, recounts the first days, weeks, and months after the Cultural Revolution, a period he experienced firsthand. Wright is a historian and former political speechwriter whose works have looked at Australia’s politicians, female publicans, and the brave women of Ballarat (in the award-winning The Forgotten Rebels of Eureka, which took her ten years to research and write). This talk will be moderated by BBC reporter Stephen McDonell, formerly the China correspondent for Australian Broadcasting Corporation.
