“Poetry is eternal graffiti written in the hearts of everyone,” according to Lawrence Ferlinghetti, the poet and co-founder of the famed City Lights bookshop in San Francisco (who was once arrested for publishing Allen Ginsberg’s Howl). To present some of the graffiti written in their hearts we are joined by five wonderful poets this evening: Stephanie Anderson, Marcel Gaulthier, Jernej Kusterle, Scot Slaby and Lethokuhle Msimang will each read some of their work and then discuss poetry and the role they see it playing in the contemporary world.
