  From 3D Printing to Consumer Electronics – Challenges and Solutions • Ehab Saleh has been working in the electronics industry for the past 15 years. His early involvement in research and development began in the industry, and has focused on academic research to develop new metal and glass direct writing technologies since 2009; • Ehab is currently a Lecturer in manufacturing processes at the University of Leeds, UK. His research focuses on the development of addition, subtraction and hybrid manufacturing processes to enable digital manufacturing of multi-function devices; • Prior to joining Leeds, Ehab worked for five years at the Additive Manufacturing Center (CfAM) at the University of Nottingham. At CfAM, Ehab has studied several research areas, including manufacturing processes for electronics and energy harvesting/storage applications, 3D printing and new curing methods for metal and polymeric inks, inkjet printing of active components (graphene and several other 2D Materials), 3D printing of RF metamaterials, additive manufacturing of destructive photovoltaic materials and multifunctional microfluidic systems. • In this presentation, significant advances in additive manufacturing from electronic components to passive components to active devices and integrated circuits will be presented. This will showcase a general reality of printed electronics, with a focus on 3D printing, including the challenges and solutions to date to fully realize the overall vision of 3D printing as a consumer electronics tool.
