A Young Writers Panel featuring high school writers, moderated by high school student, Jennifer Zhou. Jennifer Zhou is the author of “Here Be Dragons,” (InkBeat Youth Journal) the story of a troubled young boy discovering his father through his art. Tina Sang is a Chinese-American junior in high school who has written fiction about everything from cartographers to pickpockets to the implications of time travel. Caitlin Yuxuan Yao is a third culture kid whose fictional characters have often experienced family trauma, especially abandonment. She reads, writes, sings, and dreams in three languages. Ollie Vickers’ poetry has been published in every issue of InkBeat Youth Journal to date, and has been characterized by Anthony Tao as being “image-rich…imbued with a sense of longing…and triumphant in the smallest and truest way.
Simon Shieh is the editor in chief of Spittoon Literary
