Background of the Leepeng Lanna International Event

Leepeng Lanna International Event at Tudongkhasathan Lanna ( Sansai District) has been held annually since 1989, giving us opportunity to discover the magnificence of Lanna culture. We experienced the peaceful atmosphere based on Buddhist practice, coexisting beautifully with the day-to-day activities and culture of the Lanna people. Leepeng Lanna International Event has been conceptualized for the revitalization and preservation of traditional Lanna culture, highlighting the Leepeng Festival in particular, the development of an admirable image for Chiang Mai and good impressions for foreign visitors attending the Leepeng Lanna Event. The development of a harmonious coexistence for the local populace and the creation of local job opportunities.

Wat Phrathat

There's an old story,  a ceylon monk dispatched a white elephant and other 4 soldiers searching a proper place to replace Buddha's relics, the white elephant just stopped over there and die, the the monk chose the place to build temple, also because beside the road, there were two golden dragons, then called it Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep.

双龙寺

有一个故事，一名锡兰僧人派出一只白象和其他4名士兵寻找适当的地方取代佛像，白象刚刚停在那里死亡，僧人选择了建造寺庙的地方，也因为在路旁边，有两个金色 龙，因此命名双龙寺。

It is for Royal palace when visit North Thai during the Jan to Mar, basically it is for Royal entertain foreign guests.
