THIS EVENT IS STRICTLY OFF THE RECORD

China has become a part of US domestic politics early in the 2016 campaign cycle. At a time when the US-China relationship is more consequential than ever, areas of friction and competition have recently overshadowed the cooperative side of relations. China will pose one of the most significant foreign policy challenges and opportunities for the next US president.

Dr. Evan Medeiros, President Obama's former top advisor on Asia, will join Beijingers for Blue States to discuss the stakes for the US relationship with China in the 2016 elections and how a future Democratic candidate might handle U.S.-China relations and Asia policy in the next administration.

Dr. Medeiros was the Special Assistant to the President and Senior Director for Asian Affairs at the White House’s National Security Council (NSC) until June 2015. Prior to that, he served as the Director for China, Taiwan and Mongolian affairs and was a senior political scientist at the RAND Corporation.

Note: Due to high demand, The Bookworm can NOT take reservations for this event. Please order your tickets here or buy them in person at The Bookworm.
