Organizing monthly group meals at about RMB 100-150/head with food/drinks included, this group of dedicated foodies is all about “satiating their inner-foodie appetites for good quality food, conversation & fine wining/sake-ing/cocktailing/beering while indulging for a cause”.

BJ FOODIES PURPOSE:

1. Just to eat a nice meal & catch up with real people & friends outside worklife and boozy nightlife.

2. Opportunity to contribute our little bits to society while doing something we love – EATING. The Charity aspect is a supplementary & added bonus BUT NOT the main purpose of the group.

We've had our eyes set on Jing-A's Taproom ever since we stepped into their gorgeous, exposed brick space in 1949 Hidden City in September, anxiously waiting to lock in a date for a FOoDiEs Sunday FEAST!

Since they've opened, they have teamed up with local talents like Traitor Zhou's, Andy's Craft Sausage and Le Fromager De Pekin to create custom-made dishes to pair with pints of crafty beer.

JingA won our hearts over years ago with their unique craft beers (ranging from their Big Slice Watermelon Wheat to their Toasted Chestnut Special Bitter and classic Flying Fist IPA - click here for their full menu of beers), and I'm confident that they'll do it just as easily after serving up their full menu offering in one go - what a feast!!

“Indulge for a Cause”

November's Charity Theme: Maos for Movember (supporting ORBIS)

maovember is an annual charity project organized in Beijing. The event is a spin on Movember, the global campaign that sees men grow mustaches to raise awareness of and research funds for prostate cancer and other health issues. The “mao” in maovember refers to the bank notes — worth one-tenth of a yuan or about 1.5 cents — and underscores that people can get involved no matter how much money they have.

This year, maovember will support Orbis, an organization that is focused on preventing and treating blindness and known for its “flying hospitals“. The goal is to raise a minimum of 20,000 yuan and thus fund cataract surgery for at least 25 men.
