Peer on Peer Abuse Online: 

Prevention and Response in a Digital World

 

 

Seminar Overview & Objectives 
 

1. Understanding what is defined as peer-on-peer abuse, the different forms it can take and how it can manifest itself online.
 

2. Recognising staff roles and responsibilities and whole school expectations in line with statutory guidance and legislation surrounding peer on peer abuse.

 

3. Reviewing recent research and insight into peer-on-peer sexual abuse, how to recognise and support children who have been impacted by it and understanding the law.

 

4. Identifying the reasons why children and young people engage in sending nudes and understanding the process behind cyberbullying between peers.

 

5. Recognising the importance of developing a 'peer on peer safety plan' which includes the necessary assessments, policies, and procedures to effectively manage cases of abuse.
