Matt Duke是一个自学吉他成才的歌手。当他还是少年的时候，Matt Duke拿起吉他学习，仅仅是为了能够获得女孩的芳心。在开始自己摆弄吉他之后，Duke体验到音乐的魅力，于是和他的好朋友Brendan在一个咖啡厅里表演自己创作的歌曲。一开始他们的音乐非常之烂，但后来随着经验的积累，他们的音乐也越来越出色。《Kingdom Underground》是Duke在Rykodisc的第一张专辑，在此之前他还发行过《XYX》和《Winter Child》。 Matt Duke有着爱尔兰天主教的宗教背景，他的音乐会让听者体味到前所未有的感觉，会给你意想不到的变化。时而忏悔，时而热情洋溢，时而温柔亲切……

Philadelphia-based singer and songwriter Matt Duke
was born and spent his childhood in South Jersey, where he began playing piano at the age of seven and taught himself guitar a couple of years later. Moving to Philadelphia for his high-school years, Duke began playing coffeehouses in the area and eventually recorded a handful of song demos that ended up on a compilation released by Drexel University's student-run Mad Dragon Records. Response to Duke's contributions to the project led to him recording a full-length album, Winter Child, tracked at Shinebox Studios in N.Y.C. and produced by Stewart Lerman, Stewart Smith, and Jim Klein, which was released by Mad Dragon in 2006 and distributed by Ryko. A sophomore album, Kingdom Underground, also distributed by Ryko, appeared in 2008.
