-PLOT-

Set in the 70’s to mid 80’s, "Youth" follows a group of idealistic adolescents who perform in the People's Liberation Army art troupe. They experience love, lust, betrayal, and suffering in the background of Mao-era songs and dances.

"Youth” is said to be beautifully heartbreaking, showcasing love and loss in young people during a revolutionary time in Chinese history. It evokes a certain sentimentalism and has been criticized for romanticizing a controversial past. This brings up the question of censorship and what Chinese film makers can and can’t show in their films.

16:30-18:00 Film screening
