How can we retrieve independence, confidence and power in a feminine way?

What does it mean to be a woman today?

Who are we in the world as women?

The study group hopes to support a collective reading and reflection of the stories offered in Women Who Run With The Wolves. We aim to weave threads and learnings from our personal journeys and the archetypes presented by Clarissa Pinkola Estés, Phd.

This programme is a series of 10 meetings conducted on Friday's from 10:00am to 12:00pm.

Program starts on September 25th to December 4th, 2019

At Wuding Road near Changping Metro, Line 7

Within every woman there lives a powerful force, filled with good instincts, passionate creativity, and ageless knowing. She is the Wild Woman, who represents the instinctual nature of women. But she is an endangered species. In the book Women Who Run With the Wolves, Dr. Clarissa Pinkola Estés unfolds rich intercultural myths, fairy tales, and stories, many from her own family, in order to help women reconnect with the fierce, healthy, visionary attributes of this instinctual nature. Through the stories and commentaries in this remarkable book, we retrieve, examine, love, and understand the Wild Woman and hold her against our deep psyches as one who is both magic and medicine.

PROGRAMME STRUCTURE

During 10 meetings we are going to dwell on the archetypes of the female soul. To guide us on this journey we immerse ourselves in the book Women Who Run With Wolves by Dr. Clarissa Pinkola Esthés. Each meeting will be focused on 1 or more chapters of the book, where we will read the story together and dive into conversation and interpretation of the myths.During the programme you will receive via email materials such as poems, readings, videos and online talks to support and enrich your investigation.

GROUP

All, women and men, are welcome to this storytelling gathering. Originally, this book has the sensible task of helping women to have a stronger and clearer sense of identity. Of course, the book can be read by men and boys as well as girls and women. Men might read this book to better understand the women in their lives: sister, mother, lover, grandmother. Or to explore the masculine and feminine side of their own psyche. If you are curious, do come for one meeting and see what is all about.

IS THIS FOR YOU?

This programme is recommended for people with all backgrounds, for those who are not already aware of the mythological archetypes and for those who have felt some stirring. If you are looking for knowledge and inspiration this is a course for you. This book will provide rational and creative minds with more food for thought to further their understanding of self.

SESSIONS

10 meetings/sessions will cover the whole book, all chapters. The sessions will be recorded and, in case you are not able to attend a meeting you can always listen to it after.

BOOKS

In case you would like assistance to buy the book we can recommend you a place or even buy it for you, price is subjective.

ABOUT THE BOOK

Through stories, myths and Jungian analysis Dr. Clarissa Pinkola Estés teaches us that women's vitality can be restored through extensive "psychic-archaeological" excavations in the ruins of the female underworld. The book is structured so that those unaccustomed to this type of material will learn not only stories but also be given guidance toward interpreting the stories. The stories contain an assortment of images of the Wild Woman in different age groups and cultures. Different rites of passages and initiations are the themes of the myths. The author introduces the readers to the "Wild Woman" Archetype. Dr. Estes has created a new lexicon for describing the female psyche. Fertile and life-giving, it is a psychology of women in the truest sense, a knowing of the soul. The source material comes from a global range of story traditions; the stories are from both the oral and written tradition. There is a story for every stage of life.

TESTIMONIALS FROM PAST PARTICIPANTS:

"The course reawakened a part of me that I didn’t even know was dormant. Through Maria’s guidance I was able to ignite and heal such precious parts of my psyche. Thank you!" Claire Rowden, UK.

"The book club was a journey in connection to self and to others, and Maria was a wise guide, holding the space throughout the entire experience for all of us. It was wonderful to learn and grow with such an inspiring group of women." Heather Van Fleet, USA

"Its an amazing book full of so many valuable lessons. I really appreciated being supported through my journey with this text by such a supportive and insightful guide. However, the thing I gained the most from this study programme was friendship. If ever a book was to bring women together, it would be this one." Hollie Vincent, UK.

"Maria is a wise and beautiful being. I have witnessed how she supports other women (including myself!) to evolve into wild soulful beings while she builds such strong sisterhood bonds in her circles. I am so grateful to and for her." Andra Dediu
