Beijing Postcards

Beijing Postcards is a history-focused company in Beijing. We conduct archival research and oral history projects in order to create original walks, talks, events and historical souvenirs.

Beijing Postcards uses the cityscape of Beijing to explore Chinese thought and ideas. All of our events are themed and we aim to make them challenging, inspiring and fun. Our goal is to take you off the beaten path, in every sense, and to use our research to help you view and engage with Beijing in new ways.

Mr. Six is a man of the people who knows the ways of the Hutong. Even the police on the streets respect and almost fear him. But Beijing is changing, and Mr. Six does not like what he sees. In a world where problems are solved using your fist, by paying money or by drinking large quantities of Baijiu, Mr. Six has to find a way of getting his son out of trouble caused by a gang of rich kids. "Mr. Six" is however not only the story of the relationship between a father and a son, it is also a portrait of a vanishing way of life. Feng Xiaogang masterfully plays the character of Mr. Six in this tragic but highly entertaining and almost Tarantino-like movie.
