Spittoon MEGACITY is the Spittoon Collective's first themed sequence of multi-city events around China. Never have we been so close together and so far apart through our use of social media and the technology that permeates our lives. We seek to explore this modern phenomenon through compelling arts and literary events.
The event sequence of destinations with our MEGACITY events will be as follows:
Chengdu –Friday, November 22nd – Monday, November 25th
Hangzhou – Saturday, December 7th
Shanghai – Sunday, December 8th
Beijing – Saturday, December 14th and Sunday, December 15th
TELL ME MORE: WHAT IS MEGACITY?
The events of MEGACITY strive to capture the feeling of living in the gigantic metropolises which we call home. They focus in part on the effects of the urban environments on our lives and the increasing realization of our almost symbiotic relationship with technology and social media – as well as the subsequent isolation and connection that this can symbolize.
Events in each city will correspond to 3 concept stages:
MEGACITY – Poetry – Fiction – Art – Music – Events inspired by the MEGACITY theme
CONNECT – Live stream broadcast initiatives to connect our collectives around the world
UNDER THE SKIN OF THE CITY – A series of events that reflect the unique colour and spirit of the cities that they take place in.
Over the four and a half years of Spittoon’s existence we have excelled on putting on free or very cheap events to help build our communities and let them thrive. Now we need your help. To organize and see through such an ambitious project we’d like to ask for your investment in our success, with whatever donation amount you are comfortable with!
SO WHAT ARE YOUR TARGETS?
We have already accrued costs of nearly 2500 RMB on our promotional video and design costs for other preliminary stages of promotion. Here is a breakdown of forecasted costs for the events in each city, estimated with a view of making each event the best they can be! Bear in mind these are forecasted costs for the ENTIRE event sequence, for all cities.
DESIGN – 5000 RMB – Videos, posters, leaflets, logo, tickets and event booklets (including the previously mentioned 2500 RMB of design costs already accrued)
PRINTING – 2500 RMB – Posters, stickers, tickets, leaflets and booklets
EVENT DEVELOPMENT COSTS
Chengdu – 5500 RMB to cover costs of filming, video editing and music production for our collaborative ‘Under the Skin of the City’ poem+music video project
Hangzhou – 1000 RMB to transport artists from Beijing to Hangzhou
Other
Transport costs for management team member (1 person) between cities – 3000 RMB
Text translation services – 1000 RMB
BASE TARGET – 18,000 RMB
STRETCH GOAL – 20,000 RMB
We would put stretch goal funds towards covering costs that are our organizational teams usually pay out of their own pockets, such as events-generated transportation costs, and compensating the talented videographers and photographers who usually volunteer their time to film and edit videos of our events.
50% of any surplus after 20,000 RMB will be donated to our charity partner, Dewdrops.
《Spittoon大都市》是Spittoon文学艺术集团的第一场主题系列活动，将在中国四座城市举办。迄今，我们从未如此的亲密，也从未如此的生疏，都是因为身边的社交媒体和生活中的科技。Spittoon将在此系列引人注目的文学艺术活动中探索这些现代社会现象。
《Spittoon大都市》活动系列将落地的目的地如下：
成都——11月22日周五至11月25日周一
杭州——12月7日周六
上海——12月8日周日
北京——12月14日周六至12月15日周日
《Spittoon大都市》到底是什么？
《Spittoon大都市》的活动将反映我们生活在偌大都市的感受，一边讲生活在城市环境中给我们带来的影响，一边讲我们怎开始逐渐的意识到我们跟科技和社交媒体的共生关系，以及由此所产生的孤独与连结。
每座城市的活动有三个概念舞台：
《大都市》——诗歌·小说·美术·音乐：以《大都市》主题策划的一系列活动
《连结》——连结世界各地的Spittoon文学艺术集团所在的城市的直播活动
《都市皮肤之下》——展示本城市绝无仅有的色彩与灵魂的一系列活动
Spittoon文学艺术集团近四年来是通过免费的或者特别划算的活动让我们的群体逐渐成长了。能够这样茁壮成长到现在是我们的一种优势，可是现在我们寻求您的帮助。为了组织并实现这样一场大规模的系列活动，我们寻求您的赞助，您的资助就是对Spittoon集团的最大支持与信任。大小都是力！
那，众筹目标是什么？
目前我们已经接近有2500多元的支出，用在预告片和初步宣传资料的设计。以下我们详细地列出每座城市的活动支出预算，这样的预算保证我们能举办更精彩的活动！请注意：以下的支出是为了整个系列活动（所有城市）而做的预算。
设计：5000元（视频、海报、传单、标志、门票、手册，包含以上提到的2500元）
印刷：2500元（海报、粘贴、门票、传单、手册）
活动进展支出
成都：5500元（《都市皮肤之下》诗歌+音乐影片项目拍摄、编辑与音乐制作支出）
杭州：1000元（北京往杭州的艺术家交通费）
其他
一位管理员城市间交通费：3000元
文件翻译服务：1000元
基本目标：18000元
延申目标：20000元（18000元 + 2000元）
我们将把延申目标的资金（2000元）用在组织团队成员为项目所做的支出，比如活动产生的交通费，以及把一定补贴给平时志愿帮我们拍摄和编辑视频的摄像师和摄影师。
我们将把超过两万的多余资金的50%捐给我们的慈善伙伴，Dewdrops。
